While the nation is enjoying all the orgiastic pleasure
Of its periodic jousting for the Presidential treasure;
And their champions are posturing and hectoring their churls,
I am moved to make a comment on the absence of the girls !
Not the teeny-bopper faction waving flags behind the gate,
Or Angelas, with only fifty dollars on their plate,
But a fully-paid up, bona-fide, female candidate !
Now, whatever is the reason, for this 1980 season,
It could surely not be so in Eighty-Four !
With Mr Reagan in his dotage, my analysis of votage
Would put a Kennedy behind the sacred door !
And when it comes to choosing between prejudice and losing
Would Republicans not come at last to see
That the only way to stop him, if the Democrats don’t drop him,
Is a little bit of femininity !
So the battle of the sexes may be won in sunny Texas.
Where Annie Armstrong waits the magic call !
And for some-one good to match her, we will send you Mrs Thatcher
For the first ALL-WOMAN ticket of them all !
